Does anyone have any experience on this notebook? It looks good, and the price isn't too bad. It's got the intel core duo and an ATi graphics card. The thing I'm not too sure about is the battery life (though it is a 12 cell) and simply the fact that it is a new notebook. If anyone knows of a review out there or has had any personal experience with it then that would help a lot. Thanks!

The Toshiba Satellite M100 can be found here.

I would guess it might be too new for most people to have actually gotten their hands on one yet. But I must say that looks like a pretty darn good price for what you get, even when you custom configure it to pretty high specs. I kind of like that you get a choice of colors for the lid.

Just saw the unit myself at a local Futureshop and I've got to say I'm impressed. Out of the three currently released Satellite series (P100, A100, and M100 being the three of them), the M100 has the best build quality of them all. Keyboard doesn't flex one bit and is a pleasure to type on (no clicking keys), and the case doesn't flex as long as you don't exert too much force on it. Maybe I'm a tad biased, but from what I remember, the 14" M100 screen seems to be a little brighter than the 15.4" A100. Hope this helps.

I just ordered the M100 from toshiba direct. They had a two day special of 25% off. All spect out I saved about $580.00 not to mention free shipping and free 2nd & 3rd yr extended warranty also free (after rebate). The config that I ordered include the following:

    2.0 Dou Core
    1024 gb ram
    XP pro
    Hardan Karmon Spkrs
    Intel pro wireless
    ATI x1400
    Xbrite display
    100 mb hd
DVD super multi drive (supports 11 formats)
MS Office 2003 small bus ed

All said and done $1704.00. Only extra I did not order was the $40.00 bluetooth. Seems like a good price for all I got.

Was told it would ship w/i 8-10 days and I have 15 days from the day I receive it to notify them if I want return it for any reason. Hope I made the right choice. I really hated ordering it with out having any reviews to consult that were written specifically for the m100.

It looks like you got very nice specs for the money, although you could probably have saved yourself at least $100-200 by upgrading the RAM aftermarket, but still not a bad price. What speed HD did you get with that? 4200 or 5400? Hope you like it!
