I purchased this laptop last week and when I first turned it on I noticed the volume was very low.I didn't think too much about it till last night when I needed the sound. For some reason I can barely hear anything.I tried both a dvd and a music disc and it was the same..very low..I raised the speaker volume all the way and it didn't do a thing.I also checked things out in virtual sound,Any help guys? Thanks.

Make sure that the virtual sound is on and is selected as built in speaker, if its for the speakers on the computer. If you feel that it isn't functioning then it might be defective.but also try going to the volume control at all programs, accessories, and then to entertainment and make sure that the volume and wave is up to where you preffer how loud you want your laptop to be.
    Hope i helped

by the way guys, this laptop is really loud

I'd have to agree. It shouldn't be to the point where you can't hear it. Play around with your sound controls, there may be something muted or set to a low level.
