I'm looking at this notebook and I see that they use DDR 2700 for the ram. I'm wondering if I buy this notebook, if I want to upgrade my ram, does it have to be DDR2700 or I could buy some DDR2 because I do believe this notebook is on a Sonoma chipset because of the CPU on 533Mhz FSB.

Yeah it might be based on the Sonoma, but for DDR2 to work the motherboard has to be compatible. I highly doubt as DDR2 memory will not fit into DDR memory slots & since it comes standard with DDR memory.

Try Crucial or any of the big brand name RAM manufacturers, they generally list compatible RAM's & give gurantees for RAM they sell.

Thanks, I just checked and ya... it seem that it only accept DDR.
To make sure, 200-pin SODIMM is DDR right?

Yes, 200 pin SODIMM's are the standard for most laptops, only a few ultraportables have different pins.
