Does anyone used this laptop? Any comments? Where can I find detailed information about this laptop or review? Does anyone know the NVIDIA® GeForce™ FX Go 6600 laptop video card?

    Thanks

    Bluemax43,

I have never even heard of this laptop yet. Where did you hear about it or see it? Do you have a link or info on where you got the model info? The FX Go 6600 is supposed to be the next step down from the 6800, however much mroe powerful than the 6200.

    Please fill us in ASAP!
    Thanks!

    I answered my own question!

    It's the Canadian model!

DAMN! Looks pretty nice... I like everything about it, all you woul dhave to do is upgrade the memory to DDR2 533MHZ and the Hard Drive to a 7200rpm version and you are set. I would love a faster processor too, hopefully Toshiba will make this a customizable laptop for the US so we can upgrade the processor to a 2.0 too!!!

    Hi

I'm definitely interested in getting this laptop. I think it'll be available in Canada in 2 - 3 weeks. One thing I am confused about is the video card. On NVIDIA's website they don't have a GeForce FX Go 6600. They have that for desktops, but not for mobile. Have they just not announced it yet? All I see for mobile is 6200 and 6800.

    Thanks for your input.
I like this laptop too, especilly the optical drive which is also DL and writes DVD RAM disks as well. I cannot find info about NVIDIA® GeForce™ FX Go 6600 video card anywhere. Typical about the OEM's - you see it in the stores or hear about it and you cannot find it even on manufacturer's web site. I would like to know where I can see more pics showing this laptop. I still have the Compaq R3320ca laptop (AMD64)and if not for once a month screen flickering I would keep it. What One of the things I like about toshiba is the surround sound and battery management. I hope the sreen on M40 is as good as my compaq. Too bad Toshiba does not make laptops with AMD64 processors. I was told that manufacurers have some kind of agreement with intel. Would this be the only reason or there is more to it. Why so few laptops use AMD64?

If you want to see this laptop, just go to your local computer store and take a look at the M30. I think that the M40 will have essentially the same case and screen as the previous model. The screen on the M30 is amazing.

Actually. GeForce 6600 Go was announced late last month.

It will gap the demand of 'mainstream' graphics... better than GeForce 6200 Turbo Cache and lags behind GeForce 6800.

If my guess is right, it will probably competing with ATI X700 & X800.

Yah i reall like this laptop too... but seesh i am just concerned about the warranty.... I like buying locally instead of on the internet and the warranty for toshiba is so expensive.... I just want to add accidental damage warranty for 1 year nad not for 3 years which is 425cdn

I have the M30 with a Gforce Go5200 in mine
17" wide screen works well for me
