I am having a spate of problems since installing SP1 on top of Vista Home Premium. Windows wants me to install a new Intel graphics driver. There is a new one posted at Intel, but it does not match my chip set, and will not install. I tried searching for a similar problem posted here - no luck. I'm a newbie, so cut me a little slack here! Thanks.

This is a Toshiba Satellite A-205-S5804.
Windows Vista Home Premium with SP1 installed.
Graphics support is Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family .

    Current driver is:
    Driver igdumd32.dll – igdkmn32.sys 7.14.10.1329 9/13/2007

The on the Intel website is: Version 15.11.3.1676 10/11/2008.
But even though the Intel "search" function points me to it, it does not list this chipset and it will not install.

I initially had a problem where NO video worked.
I reinstalled the current driver above - and it fixed that problem.
It says I need an updated driver, but Intel does not have one yet for my chipset.

I should tell you the exact problem I am having is that my Aver Media Center does not show digital TV pictures. Screen goes green, and it occasionally locks up the whole machine. Windows thinks it is the Intel Driver. Who am I to question that!

    Thanks.
    Carl

you should try to download the drivers from the toshiba site. They have all the drivers you need.

I had the same problem with my toshiba p300, but this was solved easily by just going to the hardware and choose update. Windows just searched online and found the good update.

    A continuing saga.

My Toshiba laptop display driver continues to fail and recover when viewing digital TV with AverMediaCenter, after installing Vista SP1.
Windows problem reporting tells me that Intel has an updated graphics accelerator driver for this chipset.
    Current driver is: 7.14.10.1329

This new one, dated 11/3/08, is version 15.11.4.1951 (7.15.10.1591)

    Name: winvista_15114.exe 19.8 Meg.

It's an .exe file, and when I run it, it says it will not install because it says it is not validated for my laptop, and I should talk with the manufacturer.

Toshiba's website has NOTHING about any driver updates.
My other option is to call them.
The Intel "readme" file has a manual process for installing.
I unzipped the ".exe" file and I am going to try to install the thing myself.
I figure, what can possibly go wrong?
Worst case, I back it out to the current one and I am back where I was.

I don't really believe that Toshiba does anything to these things that I have to wait for them to validate this or anything.
What do you experts think? Thanks again.

I was getting the same error and found your post while googling. Then I realised the old drivers hadn't been uninstalled. After I did those new drivers installed without a hitch. Did you do that?
