This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Toshiba Satellite P105-S6147 CD not playing

    Hi, Just bought the above with vista home premium and cannot get any CD to play. Placed 2 x CDs into the drive and they are not recognised (checked them on other Toshiba laptop and they are good)
    I placed a DVD into the drive and it was recognised immediatly.
    Tried opening 'my computer' to then open drive 'D' but data on cd was not recognised, tried similar with windows player again nothing seen in the drive.
    Any one met this one so far, and what advice please; other than a long journey to CompUSA to have them look at it.
