    Hi,

I have the Toshiba Satellite P205-S6237 Notebook and it came preinstalled with Windows Vista. I've wiped out the laptop and reinstalled Windows XP SP 2 on it. Then I managed to get most of the critical XP drivers (ie. NIC, Chipset, Video, Sound, etc.) on it.

However, I'm unable to find the DVD drivers for it and it will not play DVDs at all. Do you guys know if this is a Mat****a DVD driver that I should be looking for or not?

    Thanks in advance!

Do you mean that the DVD-ROM doesn't recognize the CD/DVD or it will not play them?

To play copywritten DVD's, like movies, you need to have software installed. Mine came with 'InterVideo WinDVD 5'. That's what you need to get your hands on.

I bought a DVD player software and it still does not work.

Is it because it is an HD DVD player? I don't need to play HD DVDs, just regular DVDs on Windows XP. I know there is a driver out there for Windows XP and this particular notebook. Can someone point me in the right direction on this?

    Thanks,
    Jackson

I ended up getting a program to work. WinDVD. WMP still will not play a DVD but it works in the WinDVD program.
