This device is now under offer in the UK, from several retailers (ie Dixons, Micro Anvika) at £900-£1000, a price drop of some £300, and an apparent bargain for a 17" screen, 64mb ATI Radeon 9700, 3gigs P4 processor etc. I'm tempted, but...

    Worries:

1/I've heard on various websites that Toshiba build quality is not what it was...

2/Pentium 4: in laptops I've experienced serious overheating with P4 (obviously the reason for the birth of the Pentium M etc), but of course a lot depends on the particular laptop and its cooling systems etc.

Any opinions, anyone got any experience on this machine?

    1. its was probably me . JK

    2. Actually the pentium although presscot is *mobile* pentium which is better suited , for heat issues try find one with Celeron D .
I know Toshiba offered it in customizing and they produce less heat according to intel specs .
