So far I have had 2 Satellite P75-A7200's from 2 different Best Buys. Both have had the same issue.
When the laptop is connected to the ac power, there is a noticable 'static' field to be felt on all metal surfaces of the case. It is best felt when you lightly brush your fingertips over the metal, along the side of the keyboard, the sides next to the trackpad, or back of the screen. The static kind of feels like the metal has a rough or textured surface. When you unplug the ac or place 2 hands on the laptop (completing the circuit with your body) the metal becomes 'smooth'.
I went back to Best Buy today and spoke with the 'blue shirt' who sold me the laptop. When I explained this to him and he felt it for himself (on the store display model) he was pretty blown away and couldn't believe he hadn't noticed this before.
I called Toshiba and they deny all knowledge of this, and promise to investigate blah, blah. I was fobbed off. They basically said buy another laptop then.
So, all Satellite P75-A7200 owners. Please try this for yourself and reply if you have the same issue.
Any answers as to if this is dangerous to myself or the pc components will be greatly received. Neither Toshiba or Best Buy could answer this and I really like this laptop but i'm afraid to keep it due to this issue.

Update: For anyone that has the 'static' or ac leakage issue, using an ac adapter that has 3 pins will stop this problem. I got a new 120w 3 pin power adapter from Toshiba and all is good now. The Targus model sold at Best Buy also works fine. Hope this helps someone!

Good to know. I just ordered mine. I've see that problem on other laptops before. It comes from the Synaptics trackpad. The trackpad uses static to figure out where your finger is. It causes all kinds of hell for Linux drivers if you think you might want to run Linux as a dual boot. Anyway, it is actually kind of normal on a lot of notebooks now that use Synaptics.
