I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro 6100. Can somebody tell me how many fans it has? How do I check if the fans/thermal sensors are working? I have cleaned the air vents and I can hear the fan working....but still the laptop becomes very hot.
Does anybody know how do I check the temperature of the system?

You can run a program called MobileMeter. Here's the website link. It's in Japanese, but has an English link.

How hot does the unit get? You also have to note, this is a P4 notebook and P4's run very warm. If the vents are blocked, it could get hot. You could always get a cooling pad for your notebook. It's generally a pad that has fans on it which blows on the underside of the unit to keep it cool.
