    Hi,

I'm interested in the Toshiba Satellite Pro A300-1C2; I was just wondering if anyone has got one, or knows much about as far as how good it is?

    Thanks in advance :)

I got one for my wife, it is very fast and the vista 64 bit hasn't had any problems with peripherals or anything. The trackpad is not good, it is flush with the surface of the keyboard and is very easy to drift out of it or press it with your palm - the settings to fix this don't work well as they sometimes stop working. The trackpad buttons are hard to press. The keyboard is squishy but quiet and my wife says she really likes it. I hooked up a bluetooth mouse (no built-in bluetooth so you need a dongle) to get around the trackpad and now it's really nice to use.

Screen is nice horizontal viewing range but poor vertical range.

Speakers are great, very nice sound.

Battery life is average at 2.5 hours.

The discrete graphics card is great, so much better than an Intel x whatever.

I have this paired with a linksys 610n and the wireless speed is much better than g.

Lots of USB ports. Good build quality, slight flex in the case but feels sturdy and is very light.

Overall I would recommend this laptop, unless you like using a trackpad -then I'd seriously consider taking it for a test-drive first - maybe the issues can be fixed with software.

Hope this helps you make a decision.
