This is a the new model replacing the S2940.
The laptop comes with a 6-cell battery instead of a 12-cell, is heavier and has a touch screen display.
I am completely unsatisfied with this laptop at the moment.
The laptop came with Windows 7 Home-Premium. I created a recovery DVD for the O/S + Drivers/Apps.
I installed Windows 7 x64 Ultimate and 5 devices were not recognized in device manager. Fine. I installed the Apps/Drivers DVD and it tried to start installing all the software again which I obviously do not want.
I went to the Toshiba website and there are ZERO drivers for this laptop available.
I called Toshiba Support and they told me that I was voiding my warranty by installing Windows 7 Ultimate.
What the heck Toshiba? I'm getting ready to return this junk.
edit: I actually let the Apps/drivers DVD run and it is installing drivers now.
I called Toshiba and they "filed a complaint" and said they did not know why drivers were on their website.
However, I find it funny that they did not know the drivers would be on the DVD if I just ran it.
The case manager basically hung up on me which I also found pretty funny.

OK further notes..
I finally got all the drivers installed. You have to reboot every time after you install every driver.
However this laptop is starting to grow on me. I really liked the Microsoft Windows Touch programs like the globe and the games.
The screen is not SO BAD once you get used to it but it will need to be cleaned very often.
The speed of the laptop overall is good thanks to Windows 7. I haven't really checked how well the battery performs yet.
