I started a thread on some other forum and i was sent over here.

here is the original thread that i had started.

The only thing is that the laptop will not post no sound or image.
I'm thinking its the motherboard and if so where can i find a new one? i have checked ebay but there is only 1 there and its broken.

    Thanks

I checked out the other thread you started and I agree with the others. It sounds like your mobo is shot. If you remove the memory you should get some beeps. Did the laptop just quit working for NO apparent reason?

Or was something installed or changed on the laptop where it died shortly afterwards?

Your CMOS battery is bad. It should be 3V. ;)

You should be able to lash together a pair a 1.5V lithium coin cells if you can't find a suitable ready made replacement.

BS. A typical motherboard is around about $300 - $400, the cost of a netbook.

most of the time that these fail it is due to bad solder bridges from the hold cold expansion cycles. If it is not posting at all and out of warranty you could try taking out the mobo and trying the oven trick to see if that will fix it as a last resort.
