my aunt brings home laptops every once in a while from work well this time she brought a really fast one its the toshiba satellite pro 6100 P4 1.5 ghz 254 Ram and a 20 gb hd but it wont even turn on i plug in the power suppy its the right one but only the battery light comes on and i let it charge all night and it still wont turn on maybe the motherboard is blown i dunno can anyone of you guys plzz help

If its under a warranty, send it to whoever you have the contract arranged with. Before you do that, there are some things you can try, like using a vacuum to clear out the fans and inlets. If its a P4 chances are it'll collect alot of dust.

The 6100 series is a pretty old model - 4 years old. I'd check on the fans and make sure there isn't any dust clogging the cooling system as bc135 said. However, based on your diagnostic that the notebook won't turn on, it sounds like a fautly MOBO or power supply adapter (input).

oh well got it for free ill sell it on ebay as is . might get 100 or 200 for it but before i do that i think ill have my cousin take me to a computer store and see if they have a power adapter that works
