    Toshiba Satellite slow with autocad and sketchup

    I have vista on my Toshiba Satellite L305D-S5873 and was told switching to xp would speed autocad and sketchup. Any input on this would be helpful. How do I make these programs run faster on this computer? Extreme lag time running these programs makes using them almost impossible. I'm needing to spend the least money possible to solve this as I'm a single mom and college student. Thanks!
