    Hey guys,

    I've got a Toshiba Satellite U920T which I'm fixing for a friend.

They accidentally formatted the ENTIRE hard drive, erasing the recovery partition :( Toshiba want to charge $66 to send me recovery media which IMO is too expensive for essentially a Windows re-install CD.

PLEASE someone tell me there's somewhere I can get this recovery media without having to buy it from Toshiba?

It's Windows 8, and the product key is embedded in the BIOS, so it'll only work with the right recovery media.

I'm happy to try recovery media for another Toshiba laptop just to see if that'll get Windows working and I'll change around the drivers myself.

Please someone point me in the right direction. I'd hugely appreciate it.

Get a good copy of windows 8 and install it. Don't worry about the embedded key. All that does is to make the install process easier.
