Just trying to see if the Satellite line is considered sort of mid range in the Toshiba line? I have heard great things for years about Toshiba laptops but wasn't sure if the Satellite series is considered a good choice for office applications, some image processing, and light gaming.

The Satellite lineup is pretty much for mainsteam users.
    Work, play, watching movies etc.

The Satellite series is the consumer class. Tecra and Portege's are business class.

Thank you. Now I understand. It has just been recently that I have finally decided I can really use a laptop. Next step for me is see what will give me the most for the money. :)

Just be careful about the graphics card, even for light gaming I'd stay away from the intel gm's. Although I did manage to get half life 2 to run but it laged so bad I gave up in the end.
