I know you guys have a similar poll, but I'm trying to standardize it. Are you happy with your Toshiba laptop?

Yes. So far the only problem I've had with it is the touchpad not working. But I use a mouse so it's no biggie.

    Mine is a M115. Let’s see…

    Battery doesn’t last too much.
It's bigger than others 14" notebooks.
The build quality is not that great. The plastic is so flexible that a minimum pressure over the top, when closed, is enough to make the keyboard scratch the screen.
Keyboard has an unnecessary non standard layout.
Support site never received any update (download).

It’s working fine, that’s why I vote 'Yes... but I have regrets'. But with a lot of regrets :(

IMO i dont mind size of a laptop aslong as the weight is the same then there isnt a prob, both fits in bags :D.

Im very happy with my toshiba p105-s9722 gaming laptop :D.
    Very fast and beautifull laptop.
    Doesnt run hot.
    Quiet.
Thickness is same as most 15" laptops.
    Rock solid build quality.
Dual touchpad is awsome & so is the finger print reader & it feels smooth on your palms.

My M30x-113 got bad mobo because of the bad quality for the charger was in the first mobo, they replaced it for me since I wasn't able to charge the battery.

Now the new mobo has heating issue, and it shutdown the laptop whenever it got hot while the fan is running without any problems, running Antivirus or playing any game will shutdown it.

I'm glad I got extended warranty or I would just lose the laptop, now Toshiba Tech center ordered new one, and I'm waiting for the new one to arrive from Germany.

The bios ACPI is too buggy, since Toshiba doesn't follow the ACPI standards so running FreeBSD, or Linux on it will give you a hard time.

Toshiba doesn't have a good support online via opening tickets like HP, and other vendors.

Toshiba stops supplying newer bios if your laptop got 6 months old.

The build is too cheap too much plastic on the laptop.

The Led has alot white dots on it, and they said this is normal, and wont replace the panel for me.

Check the Toshiba laptops now, they all come with DDR2 533 instead of 667, do you know why?

So my next buy should be HP!

I just received my Tecra M5 and it is a great machine but I noticed after opening the box that the screen is not the TruBrite but rather a matte screen.

Any way I will keep it.

Got my satellite A100 in July, and have been using it a lot for school, and it functions as my sole computer. This semester I've taken it to school with me (I live off campus) on average about 4 times a week. No problems thus far.

I'm glad i have easy access to AC power in the library, since the battery does not last long.

well i voted because i own a 7 year old toshiba and its still humming and working perfectly though i cant do anything great with it other than light web surfing and IMing ((and if i try anything other than that it would stall)) but still it aint made for multitasking either
but im sure even after it eventually does stop working......someday
i can always use it as a heater at home

Just got an A100. I have to say it's great for it's price - 1500 after 200 rebate ... but it seems to have a few problems with its configuration. First of all the 2gigs of ram is supposed to be ddr2 533mhz, but according to cpu-z, mine is only 266mhz... also, the go 7600 with 128mb seems to only have a 64bit memory bus instead of a 128bit one ... still investigating these matters with toshiba and my retailer.

i suggest that you update the bios its more of software related rather than hardware im sure
you can try downloading it from the official toshiba support website

not all the laptops that come out of a company which ever the company maybe can be perfect in my opinion maybe 3-4% are sure to have defects of one kind or the other which is inevitable if it is harware related it mostly related to the individual supplier
and if its build qualiy as i said earlier sometimes its inevitable and depends on the handling and care of the laptop itself or maybe a fault during assembly
sure i too have heard of declining level of build quality and service down the years but i cant confirm that rumour
