So a new one from Toshiba
looks like an updated version of M60
Offers a 256 Mb descrete Nvidia 7600
sounds really nice, but the upgrades are not cheap compared to other manufacturers.
Lets see
1.66 Duo
512 DDR2
80 Gb HD
1680x1050 Brightview
NVIDIA 7600 128Mb (+ $100 for 256) Vs. 7400 for 128 + 128 for HP dv8000t
Wireless a/b/g + bluetooth
Multi DVD-RW
the rest is well almost the same, that is P100 is H/K speakers of course
so the total? well 1500 for Toshiba after discount and 1300 for HP after rebate
whats the opinion? is it worth it?
I had my Sattelite 2435 for 3 years, and it works flawlessly, so I know Toshiba is reliable.

Well, I personally favor the Toshiba's GPU and screen over the HP's - those are the only clear cut advantages the Toshiba has IMO, so it's basically up to you to justify the extra $300 or so for the Toshiba.

I gotta agree w/AMDvsIntel, it really depends on what you need it for. The 7600 will be much more of a gaming machine than the 7400 in the HP. The screens are awesome, but HP's screens aren't too bad either, it depends on how much gaming and what kind and if you want to spend the extra for added performance. The 7400 is a good midrange card, somewhere between the X600 and X700 performance wise. The 7600 would be a notch under the 7800 which is a step above the X700.
