I own a Sattelite L35 notebook. The first partition has no letter but is the Toshiba System Volume. I was wondering what the purpose of it is. Thank you for any information.

That is your system restore partition. It contains the image of your OS (Windows) and any programs and drivers you got upon your first boot (the out of the box stuff). You'll be able to restore your OS without any optical discs this way.

If I want to remove it I can with no ramifications?
I need another primary partition so I do not want it.

The only ramification will be that you will not be able to restore OS without distrib DVD or recovery DVD. Basically this partition is the copy of the recovery DVD.

My X205 has a small , appearantly blank partition also. If it's for restoration, how do you access it???? My system came with a restoration DVD, so I assumed the extra partition was for something else.

I've converted to XP anyway, but would like to know how to access it in case Microsoft ever gets vista worth using.

If you already formated, and thats why its blank, you wont be able to access it but you have the DVDs so you really don;t need it.
