Yeah, but with the red one I would have to spray-paint the entire machine BBQ black. A ninja decal may be the way to go (but I'm thinking, if I am going to put a decal on it anyway, why not refinish it first to see how it goes - and the decal should stick better). I was reading a couple of threads where people re-surfaced their PSPs and iPhones. Perhaps sandpaper is too much, but a claybar for buffing out car paint may be the way to go to just take off a bit of the sheen. If I keep the machine for more than a few months, I will end up trying one of these things.

I never had any problems with the trackpad after a clean install of Windows 7. I downloaded drivers directly from the manufacturer's website

Did you do a complete re-install of Windows 7 from a Non-toshiba DVD? You have to call the MS robot to re-activate your copy but it is the best move to wipe all of the OEM crapola. I'm sure you can find somebody with a Windows 7 home premium 64 bit disc or maybe you can sweet talk a computer repair store into borrowing one...not illegal since you have a legit Serial #.

Good luck on working out the touchpad issues. Maybe there was a hardware revision that only affects some t115d models...

The default Win7's driver works fine.

    And a few more problems:

    1. The CPU always works @1.5GHz (7.5x200) and doesn't have any power saver method.
I checked it with Everest while it supports 4x multiplier too.
This problem makes the netbook so hot even in power saver/eco mode.
And there's no "Processor power management" in Win7's Power Option.

    2. I installed another Samsung 2GB DDR2 800MHz, but the system is working @ Dual DDR2 600MHz 5-5-5-15 instead of 800MHz.

Both of these are part of defeatured Athlon Neo series. There is no powernow/cool n quiet (reserved for the Turion Neo). The memory controller on these processors are a bit wierd. I remember reading about this a couple of years ago. AMD fixed this with the newer generation in their mainstream processors. This being the low cost version, I guess they didnt bother trying to implement the fix.

And why do programs report that HD3200 has 32bit 333MHz memory?
I think it should be 128bit 300MHz because of dual channel memory.

and is there anyway to fix the touchpad issue without reinsalling windows? :(
I'm using the default win7's driver.

HD3200 uses 256MB if you install 2x2GB because windows reports that the system has 3.75GB of RAM.

I'm highly considering picking up the dual core version of this... been looking at this one alongside the acer 1410, asus 1201, msi wind u230, etc, but this one looks to be most along what I'm looking for. Only thing I noticed is that its a bit heavier than the other ones tend to be. I'm looking for something that I can carry around all day, doing a decent amount of walking (live in New York, walking to class/work + subways). Is this light enough to be that portable or should I look at some of the other stuff out there with a little less weight?

I have been following the T115D-S1125 - all sounds good and ready to buy.
Will use for camera download on trips, some word processing, Photoshop Elements during trips-- and in spare time would like to run MS Flight Simulator X.
Question: Will MS Sim X run OK on this notebook?
I plan to expand to 2GB RAM.
I hope this works -- new to this 'posting'

Why do you need dolby in a digital world. Dolby was designed to reduce tape hiss. IMO, dolby seems to roll of the highs so why not just get a pair of headphones that have a lot of bass? Another question, how can you even tell that you need dolby on a T115D-S1125, the audio in these things absolutely sucks.

Sedwards - you are thinking of dolby noise reduction...i am talking about dolby surround. Yes the audio in most computers is sub-par but I find the dolby headphone (when watching movies) a nice improvement over plain stereo.

Also dolby noise reduction does not roll of the highs. Properly encoded/decoded, dolby is fairly transparent. Many people (in the cassette age) though dolby rolled of the highs because listened to unencoded, a tape would sound "brighter" because the encoded tape had BOOSTED highs.

Well, I've successfully overclocked the Radeon 3200 using MSI Afterburner. I didn't do much, just a test. I played Defense Grid Awakenings (Steam) and it ran pretty well. I had to turn down some eye candy, but it ran fine.

I also exposed "High Performance" in power plans. I'm going to go after the CPU next. That looks like it will be a challenge

Been messing with my t115d-s1125, and using rmclock on it, it seems like it does have cpu scaling, guess I'll have to see how the battery life with it is.

I'd like to install a bigger hard drive in my T115D-S1125. To re-install windows, can i use the install disc from my desktop with the windows install tag that's on the bottom of the laptop?

Also, will my external dvd drive be recognized by a machine that doesn't have windows installed yet?

Depends on if the install disc an OEM load or if it is actually a copy of Windows. Otherwise you can download an official copy of Windows, just don't have a link at the moment, somewhere here at NBR.

If you made the system recovery DVD's on your T115D you should be able to do a fresh install using that without all the bloatware.

Not sure if this info was posted before but I just found out there is a new bios, version 1.70, available for download from Toshiba.

    Change history - Version 1.70
•Changed warm boot to keep power.
•Fixed: S3 resume fails when the HDD password is the same as the User password.
•EC-0.18: Modified the restart time and power on avoid time (1000 ms) for Conexant Audio power.
•EC-0.19: Modified the power on avoid time countdown so it can not enter IDLE mode.
    •EC-0.20: Improved fan performance.

So this morning, I got an error message stating that there was a failure with my cooling system. Immediately turn the computer off and return it for service.

This is about the 6th time Ive gotten this message. It comes on maybe once a month. Ive just been turning the power off and letting it cool down, then repowering it up and its been fine.

What can I do to ensure that it doesnt overheat?

it seems the newest synpatics touch pad drivers fix the weird jumpiness that the t115d had. Will be using my t115d this weekend more often to see if that is the case
