    BEHOLD THE DINOSAUR!
I have this old Tecra 780CDM that I am using now, as my primary laptop farted out a week or so ago.
So I plug it in, and turn it on. Works just fine. Battery still holds 2.5 hour charge. Run the battery down to about 7%, and plug it in. When I turn the laptop off, after about 15s the charger brick starts to make this weird static/click noise.
    It starts off low
    Then Gets Louder
    THEN GETS LOUDER
    then it stops.
When it stops, it will either stop charging or continue.
I have tried 5 different outlets and 2 different feeder cables (linking the outlet to the brick) to no avail. There seems to be no pattern.
Will this explode or something, or will it just silently die sometime?

Sounds dangerous; I actually have no idea what will happen. May want to consider replacing the charger, can probably find pretty cheap on Amazon or Ebay.

    Good luck
