    Hi All
New to the forum. I just bought a Toshiba U205-5057. When I open an application the screen will at times go blank (black) for a fraction of a second, and come back on. Everything seems to works normally after that though. This happens occasionally, have seen it several times with internet explorer (1 in 10 maybe). Was wondering if this is common, or is a sign of impending trouble. Or is this a function of vista. Never had vista before. Still have a day to return the notebook. Thanks for your help.

erm..if you've ever seen a computer screen go blank while opening a program - then I'd say you have nothing to worry about.

However, I've never seen a computer do that with the amount of various computers I've worked with, so I think it's safe to say somethings amiss.

Plus, why would you get the u205 at this moment in time when the u300/u305 is out? They're much better, larger screen (13.3") at the same weight :)

Just a thought..oh if you get the u305 at costco.com you have 3 months to return it for a full refund if anything dasterdly happens with it.

    Hi Jordan
Thanks for your reply. I also think somthing is wrong, no clue what though. I had not gone for the U305 cos when I tried it out at a local BB it seemed very flimsy, with a lot of flex in the keyboard. But now I am thinking again. Also i didnt know about the costco return policy. That helps. Thanks
