As a user I am sick and frustrated with pre-installed Vista home premium on my new Toshiba U300-153 laptop. Now I wish to get rid of Vista.
If I use my bootable XP CD ROM for installing XP, I get a message that my hard drive is not detected.
I need step by step help to remove Vista from my laptop and change over to XP professional.
Also I need advice on source of hardware drivers that I may need after Vista is removed.

download AHCI drivers form intel's website, the zip package, unzip them use nlite to create a new win xp installation with integrated drivers.. then have fun installing the other drivers, make sure to follow the installation order...

Hi, Thanks.
For me, the process looks formidable. I am not a specialist in PC but just a learning user. Is there a simpler way to resolve my problem as is mentioned above?
Sorry for the botheration. - Vishwas -
Go into your cmos and disable your sata then it should boot from your cd. also go to the toshiba website and look for a model with the same chipset that came with xp pre-installed download and burn those drivers to a cd for use later on
