Hehe, beat me too it Red Dragon!

Looks like a great laptop. I've been looking for ages now for a small laptop with a decent GPU to take away with me on business trips, and for taking to work. The Dell XPS is way too big and heavy and stays at home for this reason.

Had pretty much narrowed it down to the Asus F6Ve with the ATI 4570. A great spec, with the usual great Asus warranty. Only problem was its bland and cheapish look.

These two machines looks very similar in terms of spec. The Toshiba looks heaps better than the bland and cheap looking Asus though. Obviously the Toshiba will cost more looking at the RRP of 1099EUR. I look forward to seeing some reviews, hopefully soonish.

Good on ya Toshiba for ditching the horrible cheap gloosy coating all laptops seem to come with these days. The textured casing looks really good, plus won't be covered in fingerprints within 5 seconds of using.

 

The ATI HD4570 only has 80 shaders, but I guess it's pretty good for a notebook that only weighs 4.5 lbs.

Does anyone know if the U500 WITH the ATI 4570 will be available in Canada? The models I've seen at Staples and Source come equipped with GMA4500 and the Toshiba Canada site does not have it either...
