    Hi there,

For the sake of god I cannot tear down my U945, no guides nor videos could be found over the web.

The fan is rattling terribly and I would like to check if it can be lubricated.

Any hints removing the bottom part ? I unscrewed everything (at least I think of) but bottom half remains..

    Regards,

    1. Open the cover and take out the hard drive (green circles).
    2. Remove the mSATA and the WiFi cards.
2b. Remove the RAM... just cause
    3. Remove the 3 ribbon cables.
    4. Take out the rest of the 19 screws.
4b. Take out the small silver screw.

At this point, you should have 21 black screws, and 1 silver screw.

    5. Carefully pry the keyboard assembly off from the bottom+screen.
    6. Two silver screws hold down the fan, it should be pretty straightforward from there.

I have the same problem with the fan on my U945. Is the keyboard stuck down with double sided tape as shown in this video of a U840 keyboard replacement? Can the keyboard on the U945 be removed without destroying it?
