What is your current CPU?

I have a T7400 right now. I read any T9xxx series was supposed to work? No Q cores though. X9000 possably?
-
T7400 is a 667Mhz CPU while T9400 is a 1066Mhz CPU. This means that there is 70% chanse for T9400 not work. Now, you must check if there is any BIOS limitations. Start off with finding what your Chipset is, if your Chipset supports 1066Mhz CPU then next step we'll have to check if there is any BIOS limitations, which I really don't think it is, but you' never know!
I do not know if X9000 will work, but heat can be a problem. However, check if T9400 works at first place. -
moral hazard Notebook Nobel Laureate
T7400 = socket M
T9400 = socket P
Are you sure you have a T7400?
Maybe you have a T7300 (socket P)?
If you have a T7300, then you can upgrade to an X9000, T9500, T9300, T8300, T8100, T7800...
