    Toshiba X205 InfraRed drivers for XP?

    I want to use my remote with XP but where can i find iR drivers for my notebook?

    Um... does the X205 even have IR? I'm pretty sure it doesn't, that's why Toshiba didn't include a remote on this 'media' PC. Blutooth remotes are available, but that will cost you like $50

    Well, there was a remote included in my package and it is definitely iR.
    It works with the vista installation that is originally on the NB but unfortunately not with xp.

    Thought the remote was for the TV tuner only. Does the USB dongle have an IR connection? If this lappy does have IR, I sure don't know where the receiver is.

    If it is the dongle, is there even drivers for that item for XP? Who makes it?

    The iR port should be somewhere at the front, under the front edge logo i would suppose.
    I looked up what driver was installed for the iR port: "Embedded iR Driver - Compal Electronics Inc."
