    Hi,
I have recently been having some trouble with my x305-q725 laptop. I Just upgraded the cpu to a q9100 because I had one laying around and figured why not. Everything is working fine except I am having issues with the keyboard and mouse. When I have just the keyboard plugged in with an external mouse it works fine. When i plug the touchpad back in (the cable also has the front LEDs) the keyboard will no longer respond until I unplug the touchpad again. When I do this it will type everything i was typing when the touchpad was plugged in. I really do not know what the problem is. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

To me it looks like you are connecting and disconnecting the touch pad while the laptop is running. That's a big no no if you are. Try it with the power turned off.

Why are you disconnecting the touchpad in the first place? The mouse will work absolutely fine with the touchpad connected. The way to turn off your touchpad if you don't want it on is by using the Fn button, with the button that disables the touchpad. From what I understand, you are opening up the laptop while it is powered on, right? You draw the line with desktops on that, generally under no circumstance should a laptop be opened while running, unless it's absolutely required.
