I was looken around to see whats out in the market and I saw the X505-Q879 & X505-Q880 which caught my eye.

Anyone have any insight on Toshiba laptops? Quality? Life? Anything else that would be helpful is much appreciated.

    Thanks

Pretty good reviews. I do dislike the hard drive locking capability that was mentioned in one of the reviews. Need to do more homework.

    THANKS!

I am sure you can disable that thing somewhere , I just didn't have too much time to play around with it . It's a useful feature under some conditions ( say your computer dropped from your bed).

First of all, HDD Protection accelerometer (if you mean this) can be very well fine-tuned for variety of conditions via their application.

It's a very good failsafe for reducing strain on working HDD while moving laptop. But if you dislike it, you can just uninstall it - no big deal.
