call toshiba tech support and ask them to help you out. I did a recovery disk reformat and reinstall factory settings and the guy told me a different way of doing it as opposed to the instructions on the disk itself. I'm not sure if it'll help with the overheating but I'm pretty sure you have a 1 year warranty on the machine, so call them. The sooner the better.

About the temps... They are normal, evenmore taking in count your ambient temps... Raise the back of the laptop for better ventilation, and if you can, buy a laptop cooler... Also clean the vents in a monthly period...

About the other issues, it's weird because the GPU temp should only affect the gaming performance... You should call Toshiba to check your lappy

I had this in another thread recently. My GPU hit 105 then SHUT down completely. I have been cleaning the vents/fans regularly with a dust buster, and thought I was doing a good job.

After good advice here, I hit the machine with a real vacuum AND an air compressor, and I was amazed at how much crap flew out of the vents. The machine now idles AND games a solid 30deg cooler than before I cleaned it.

btw, I'm running XP and thought maybe my drivers were causing problems, but it was just the dirt.
