BIOS update 2.50, what does it do? or rather, what is different about this update? I wish Toshiba would publish update changes to their stuff like game patchers (AOC, WOW etc) do.

I am still using 1.70 (the repair facility was nice enough to update the bios on my replacement board after vista essentially killed itself and took the system with it) and unless i can find a way to install without having vista screw things up, I will be staying at 1.70...

is there another way to install the bios update?

I would take it into the local toshiba repair facility and have them do it but i do not think it is covered by my warranty, and I am broke so i couldn't afford it.

I just noticed you location is Canada. I work at a ASP and apparently the Canadian support page is much different than our here. Our public or APS center support page gives detail on what the update does or corrects.

ah ok. would there be a difference between the laptop models between canada and the US? (besides the addition of french documentation and stuff).

I have attatched a pic of what the top part of our download page looks like, and the bios download instruction page is here

Toshiba Europe have no info either, Toshiba USA does publish logs but finding the equal model is all but impossible, and even so the BIOS versions does not appear to match.

cool gives me an idea, now need to figure out how to get the bios to update without vista having a fit and killing it along with my comp... like it did with 1.70 and my original laptop board.
