    hello.

I have a new laptop, and rather than pay someone £25 to come and go through all the programs with me that i dont use and unistall them i thought i would do it my self.

Is it ok to uninstall this if i completly don't use it.

Plus everyone says unistall the programs you don't use, but this can be confusing sometimes, as its hard to find what the program actually doe's sometimes, are there any tips if you dont know or carn't find information on a program.

Or any particular sites you can go to to find out about what programs do.

    thankyou so much.

Toshiba L300/L300D SERIES windows vista home premium.

This is mostly what i have now i have deleted quite a few already.
As you might know i know what programs i am using at the moment.

But are there any here that you might advise me to remove, i have looked up quite a few, but still don't know if i need them or not.

If you go to the url and click on full size, you probably got a much better idea of what is "bloatware" than me .

If you could give me a few surggestions i will uninstall them.

It looks good now... The best thing to do is a clean install and download all drivers from Toshiba. By all I mean all you use/need...

Just might be a bit beyond me at the moment, not sure what a clean install is.
Though if its fairly easy to do, i will give it a try, if following instructions.

Just find/download a Vista homepremium and burn it to disk and install. That means clean install without any bolatware. Download drivers from Toshiba. Use serial number under your laptop. That won't be illegal....

For uninstalling programs I'd recommend you use http://www.revouninstaller.com/

As others said, the best way is to do a clean install of Windows. But if you don't have the time and/or knowledge maybe it's better to just uninstall the "bloatware". But then again, if you're willing to learn you can always try to reinstall Windows, there are plenty of tutorials and how-tos circling on the net.

I have found a download in a torrent file, i already have utorrent and imgburn
So that is pritty straight forward.

I will just have to do a bit of looking up on how to install vista, as i don't want to mess things up on this new laptop

I don't think you will mess up sometihing :) ;)
Just make sure you download correct one, example if you have 32-Bit aka x86 key, you must download 32-bit

If you have 64-bit key, you must download 64-bit...
Did you understand what I mean ?
Also you must start to download drivers, before you start the instellation if you not have a second computer...

And remember; Every thing will be deleted !

This is one area i tend to forget about, i do know what drivers are, but tend to not bother with them.

I do have a second computer though.

I am not very good on this subject, all is i know is how to create the windows vista disc.

But i am not sure on how to download the drivers, and what i should be looking for, and where to look

You shold look at Toshiba site. Just download them, transfer em to usb stick or burn em to cd and install. It is "normal" .exe. Just remember to not install all that bolatware again :D And Chipset driver first, Grapich after and sound, after that just do it like you want...
