This is the pop up program that appears at the top of your desktop that enhances your Function Keys. Mine started crashing too. You can try disabling it if you don't care.. START > RUN > MSCONFIG > STARTUP > then uncheck TOSHIBA FLASH CARDS > OK > RESTART

I don't care about that program, so I just turned it off.

Re: Toshiba Flash Card has stopped working ?

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Flash cards sit at the top of your monitor and add access to function keys
( F1-12) and other functions such as brightness, standby, and some are
    programmable.

Go to Toshiba and download and install ALL the new drivers,
BIOS, and utilities... there is a bulletin about the camera issue
there.... My New Toshiba laptop sings after I upgraded all the
    drivers, BIOS, and utilities.

mine did it too, I thought it was a conflict with my virus software, but even without it, it randomly crashed. I agree, just disable it. I don't use them anyway, especially now that I'm running XP

I had the same problem--what I did was restore the computer to an earlier date and it worked for me--good luck

Before disabling the flashcards altogether, just disable the option to bring it up when the mouse get close to the top of the screen (very annoying). Disabling this option usually solves the freezing problem. Go to start>all programs>Toshiba>Utilities>Setting for Flachcards: Uncheck the "Allow the mouse to bring up the cards" option. Good Luck.
