I have a P25 17" Toshiba widescreen and I am trying to find out if other people have been having problems with the AC pin breaking off inside of the plug. I am being told that I have to replace the motherboard and Toshiba is not cooperating. To date I have talked to 2 computer repair companies and a retail store and I am hearing that this is a common problem. I would like to know if this has happened to any of you and how did you fix this.
    Thanks

This is the second toshiba laptop I have had and my son also has one - This is also the 2nd time I have had a problem with ac pin and Toshiba and my son is having the same problem. None of the 3 are the same model. What burns my butt about it is toshiba says its an abuse problem and will not fix even if your warranty has not expired. I don't think I'll be buying another Toshiba. I was told when I took my last one to computer shop for repair the only way to fix it was to replace the motherboard. Seems to me it's a very expensive fix for something that Toshiba needs to redesign and should fix but won't. If you think about it, it's a scam by Toshiba to make you have to purchase a new laptop.
