Hi, I am in need of some assistance. I have an HP pavillion laptop with dual 120gb hard drives currently. I am upgrading/replacing both of those drives soon, and I was going to give one of them to my dad. He has a toshiba satellite A215-S7416 laptop (Walmart special) with a single 120gb hard drive. The laptop has the empty space for a second drive, but I need to get one of the hard drive brackets and the screws used in installing a second hard drive. Does anyone have a part number or a link to what I need, or even a link to a detailed service manual or parts list where I can cross reference?

Will this work? It looks like a semi-universal piece.

    Thanks!

    that might work.

In my toshiba I dont use the bracket, I've had no problems in almost a year of use.

This depends on how much bracket actually restrained the drive on particular model.
If drive allowed to wiggle free, this could place more strain on HDD connector - which obviosly not designed for any kind of force and could easely break. Obviously this applies only when you move your laptop, so it could sit on the desk for ages and be just fine.

Well he carries it back and forth to work with him, so I think some restraint is needed. I did notice though that the bay in the toshiba is a lot tighter than the one in my HP. Do you think the part I linked to will fit though? It's less than $20, and I'd rather be safe than sorry.
