    Toshiba satellite 205cds help!

    Hello im new to computer's....i have a question" can you hook up a regular cd-rw that you can just buy at walmart or somewhere to a toshiba satellite 205cds??? thanks

    It has to be an EXTERNAL DVD/CD Writer, example click here. It uses USB to connect.

    BUT

    Make sure you have an USB port. And you must make sure that the external DVD/CD writer will be compatible with your laptop, since the Toshiba laptop is very old. The link I provided above is only compatible with latest versions of Windows like XP, 2000 etc. What operating system are you running, Win98 WinME which one?

    Guessing your notebook does have a USB port, it'll probably be version 1.1 - make sure the external drive will be able backward support it.
