    Toshiba satellite froze :

    my daughters Toshiba satellite , arrow has locked in one place when you hit the space bar the computer will open up to the desk top all the icon come up but thats all you can do . tried shutting it off and reboot but same thing .Figured it has avirus or something she has virus protection but didn't get this one i guess any thoughts that might be simple fix. thanks.

    I'd also try to be a bit more specific about the problem:

    Do you mean her arrow key is stuck? "arrow has locked" - what does that mean??? The mouse pointer..?

    Does it freeze at the desktop?

    Do you know what kind of anti-virus program she is using?

    Try running the laptop in safe mode , repeatedly hit f8 upon re-boot, or, follow Toshiba's new instructions for the boot mode if it says it quickly when you restart the machine - If it can run fine in safe mode, either I or someone else in the Security and Anti-Virus Software forum should be able to help you.
