    Hi,
This machine has a problem and wondered if anyone could offer advise ?
On starting up the message PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
    PXE-M0F: Exiting PXE ROM.
appears followed by press any key to continue (which takes you back to square one again).
I have changed the system memory, tried another dvd rom, cleaned out the cpu fan and re-pasted the processor, I have even tried another HDD all to no avail.
If I insert my xp disk to re-install the message "File setupdd.sys could not be loaded. The error code is 4 "
Followed by "setup cannot continue. Press any key to exit"

Does anyone have any ideas on this one ?
    Thanks.

If it is of help to anyone with a similar problem:

This problem turned out to be a fault with the I/O controller for the HDD on the mobo, and as a result this laptop is dead in the water so to speak...unless anyone knows any different ?
