    hey guys...

    i recently bought a satellite pro a120 (psac1a)

i installed xp pro sp2 no problem

ive downloaded the drivers from the europe toshiba website

    first did chipset
    2nd video (radeon 9000)
    3rd realtek audio

i restarted after every driver install... but i cant get the sound to work

ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, ives tried the volume scroll on the front, ive tried the volume control in windows and the realtek audio suite (kind of like an equaliser)

ive tried downloading realteks automatic install program..

    and ive tried reinstalling windows

when i play music on win media player the equaliser thing goes up and down like everythigns ok, device manager says its working properly

but there actually istn any sound coming out.. even when i plug in headphones !!

I suspect you need the UAA / HDA driver.

    See here.

It's quite possible that you need to reinstall the Realtek driver after the UAA driver.

It's also possible you have fall foul of other bugs such as this one or t his one. However, I would first try the latest Realtek driver.

If your laptop comes with a modem installed make sure the driver for it is installed or you won't get any sound also check your volume make sure its not muted.

Re no sound. I had similar problems and re loaded the **** thing 3 times in different order. Then some one told me to press the fn button down and press esc at same time . Then was a speaker icon flsahed on screen and it works. Why the hell this is not documented i dont know . Hope this is useful folks
