For anyone who is interested I have had a 3 year nightmare with Toshiba. I have a Satellite 1805. I have always liked the machine when it is working, but...... It seldom is. Toshiba through a local repair facility has replaced the screen 3 times the hard drive 2 times and on 3 other occasions other things. During the third screen replacement Toshiba offered me a different machine for a discount. The discount was a joke. I kept this one, which BTW now needs yup a screen replacement.
Currently Toshiba has no record of having made me the offer previously. They also have no record of repairs having been done before, fortunately I have all that. Their tech and customer service folks -I am told -are no longer located in the U.S. which explains the frustrating inability to communicate.... India -- Pakistan -I am not sure.
I intend to buy a new machine in the very near future. On paper the Toshibas seem to have what I need but I can't deal with the suppport and repair issues.

What's actually happening with your Toshiba. You said you need a new screen, is it dark, cracked, etc...?
Regarding the number of reapirs, it's possible the repair facility is just not that great. They may be diagnosing the problem incorrectly and replacing things that don't need fixing. I would probably suggest that you try another location for repair to see if that helps. If not, and you can't handle it anymore, you may want to consider another brand. There's a lot of brands out there that may fit your requirements and may have a better track record.
