    Hey all,

my father just got a toshiba laptop (still with vista sadly) from Staples and on it is a software updater kinda like windows update but specifically for toshiba's drivers and stuff...

anyone know where I can find this for my older Toshiba laptop?

IBM/Lenovo have had this for their Thinkpads for many years....

having software that can look up drivers and other updates for the laptop is much easier than having to go through the support websites...

usually that type of software is preloaded by the manufacturer, and it depends whether the manufacturer wants to integrate such sw or not may that was the trend at that time when u purchased the laptop with all the manufacturers, still some manufacturers continue to do so i guess Dell but many have discontinued offering such sw and one needs to go to their website n download the sw. Thats my thinking. if u have formatted the laptop and installed a new OS and if u had that option of software update earlier when u purchased the laptop then find the recovery disks n install that windows version to get the software
