    It's a Satellite L645D-S4036
    With the battery installed and the AC adapter plugged in, I have two blue lights on the front of the case, (battery and adapter lights). when I push the power button, the power button and hard drive lights flash blue for about a half second and go out. there is a light to the right of the HD light that blinks on and off so fast it is almost impossible to see.
    Any ideas what might be wrong?
    Thanks, Jim B.

    Hello,

    A couple things to try -
    1. Remove Battery and Power Supply - Then Press Power Button - Might clear a power issue - Connect Power Supply (no battery) then try to power up normally.
    2. Remove Battery - Connect Power Supply then press and hold the power button for 20-30 seconds - Then remove power supply for 30 seconds - Then Put Power Supply back in (No Battery) and try to power up normally.

    Excellent!
    Step 2 worked. Fired up after holding button down for 10 seconds, Didn't need to do second half of your suggestion.
    Someone else on another forum also suggested step 1 and it didn't work.

    Thanks, Jim

    @Jimbir,

    I would say then, that there is a problem with the power system on your computer. I would definitely recommend getting it looked at by a Toshiba ASP (Authorized Service Provider) - You'll need to contact Toshiba and they may want you to send it into a Repair Depot - But you can request a "local" ASP if you're near one. They should be able to do the repairs. The only issue with the repair at a local ASP is the parts. A Repair Depot ussually has the parts readily available, where as an ASP may not. Repairs may be delayed while waiting for parts.
