    So
my brother gave me his old laptop,

i was wondering if there is anything i could do (outside of custom install of xp pro) to make it more legit..

mostly Processor (id like to get 2.2ghz or over and possibly a quad core q9400?)

ill get it up and running and check cpuz for its details but i think i upgraded the ram for him a while ago..

is the graphics card in the laptop any good at all.. i still use my BFG card from YEARS ago in my desktop..

ive kinda gotten outta the computer scene..

i was an IT major, wanted to start a little computer shop.. u know build, repair etc.. but best buy came to town and ppl graduating with my degree ended up working at best buy for 8.50

Don't know, I'm hoping someone with more knowledge with your laptop model can chime in :)

    Ya,
would be kinda nice to know..

its a gaming laptop but the processor wont let me play any games.. anything under 2.2 GHz shouldn't be considered a gaming machine. even when it was brand new.

    Bump again

im having real issues with vista on this laptop too

i opened it, cut it on, had weird lines on the screen, got a BSOD that complained about the vid card drivers and then it reset.. (too fast for me to read BSOD)
