Anybody put XP on their X205 yet?
I don't know whether or not to do it for gaming reasons at this point.
-
I installed XP right away because i don't like vista. Works like a charm
-
What video drivers are you using and where did you find them? I cant get the Nvidia or ones from laptopvideo2go to work.
Both of them say they cant find a device it can update.
Thanks! -
Yea,
I could use any info on drivers for xp as well
Thanks -
Use these drivers: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=14302
-
These work great so far, now to install some games.
Maybe I was just using the wrong modified inf before or forgot it altogether.
Thanks again! -
This is good news that we'll be able to run Windows XP. I plan on sticking with Vista for right now - There's a lot to of new things to learn and honestly... I like it so far....But I may setup a multi-boot config with XP

In the European site of Toshiba, you can download XP drivers for the X205(X200 is the same):
List of the XP drivers for the X205(X200):
Download Graps Driver for XP from Toshiba´s support site:Code:http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU

I have a Toshiba x205-S9359, Can you help me for install XP?, I slipstreamed the drivers (Toshiba raid drivers) into the Windows XP Installation (I don't have external floppy) using nlite, but I have the same problem yet:
"setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer Device.."
Maybe I have twrong drivers, (can you tell me where Ican find it?)
I use this drivers:
toshiba_raid_os2007045a
sp205v14
KR10I,KR10N,KR10I2K,KR10, -
I used a USB floppy drive and the util fron intel to create the disk.
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Det...&OSFullName=Windows* XP Professional&lang=eng
I imagine you could create a floppy and then just use the drivers from the floppy to create your slipstream. -
Dual boot is the way to go!
I'm installing all games in XP and productivity apps in Vista. Also have a VMWare session with all work related apps and VPN connection that I can open from either OS. I really like the setup and am enjoying this laptop so far. -
I got XP to work on my X205-9349, the only driver I could not find was for the pci memory controller. I lnow it's the intel robson driver, but I could not find this driver for xp?
-
Yea, there's no point in looking for a robson driver because Intel turbo memory isnt supported in xp.
-
jessi3k3 - Thanks for the info, the laptop worked fine with xp, but for now I am going back to Vista so I can view my HD DVD's on the laptop even though right now al of my HD DVD's stuter but I will keep trying to fix this.
-

Need help. This is the second computer I will have xp installed on and so far everything except the turbo cache (which I have read doesn't work under xp) and my sound doesn't work. I installed the microsoft universal audio architecture high definition audio file and then tried to install the realtek driver.
-
you need the KB888111 hotfix to get the HD audio bus to be recognized...it holds the sound card and the modem.
Any luck on getting the HD-DVD to work under XP? That's the only thing I haven't managed so far. -
I use Norton Ghost to backup all of my computers drives, and I have a clean install of XP I want to flash to my drive on my X205-s9349, but Norton wont recognize it....Any ideas???
-
might be an SATA issue????
-
Thats what kept me from XP in the first place.
Also Vista fully uses my Logitech tilt wheel mouse on default drivers, without Logitech bloatware called SetPoint.
Sadly, on most of modern notebooks there is an alternative - Vista or countless nuisances. -
I got it to work with the -fni switch, but my xp image was corrupt
-
could someone link me to the toshiba raid drivers for the x-205, im having a hard time finding them even on their site
