    Hi guys,

After 2 HP DV7-1055em's which have both developed faults within each of their 28day warranty periods, I have gone for another laptop.

However, just found out that blue ray isnt compatible. This is not a major problem in itself as I would rather wach movies on a bigger screen and also intend to use the laptop for my masters degree, gaming and photography as it has a better graphics card than some and processor.

That saying, I'm looking at keeping the laptop for a couple of years at least (due to its price!). Is it possible to hook up an external blue ray drive in a year or so when they become cheaper? Would that work? or would I have to get one that does both HD-DVD and blue ray?

I have read something about the HD being only available from the HDD itself but if it can output in HD does this not mean that it would from another connected multimedia device? Does that mean I would need to hook up a blue ray disk, copy the movie to the HDD and then watch it?

I'm very confused about this, but I like the laptop, and its kind a third laptop lucky. I just hope it works...

    Many thanks
