I plan on buying a Tecra M2 within the next few says. I think I'll get the M2-S630 (as its a lot cheaper than self-configuration, has everything I want, and allows me a few choices as for where to buy it). I plan on buying it from an online vendor (not directly from Toshiba). As long as I do it within 30 days, can I still go to Toshiba's site and order the 3 year SystemGuard warranty (or is it only for those who purchase the computer directly from Toshiba)? Thank you!

i think if u buy m2-630, u will get 3 years warranty without buying a plan. I also not sure .... correct me if i'm wrong

Yea, I think you get a 3 year warranty, but you dont get the SystemGuard (the warranty that protects against spills, falls, etc.)...at least I don't think so.

I'm not sure it's a worthwhile investment really. They generally charge a good deal for these programs, knowing that most people will never use them.

I wouldn't pay too much for it, just for the reason you said. Toshiba's is $99 (I believe its a 'sale', normally its $199). I think $99 for 3 years could be worth it (although I wouldn't pay 199). Any thoughts?
Thanks! -
I believe any extended warranties can be purchased for your Toshiba notebook upto 11 months from date of purchase for units with a 1 year warranty. You should be able to get the SystemGuard warranty at anytime, but the sooner the better. In the event that you do drop your unit, spill liquid onto it, etc... before purchasing the SystemGuard, I'd recommend you buy the SystemGuard, wait a bit and then report that you need repairs for your unit. Saves you the hundreds to thousands in non-warranty repair costs.
