I'm not too familiar with Canadian Toshibas but looks like an error to me - Canadian Toshibas are usually powered by good GPUs.

Nope it's not an error (unfortunately)...the Future Shop flyer today confirmed this news.

Pretty sad - Toshiba's Canadian notebooks are usually have pretty good GPUs. However, this looks like one of their lower-end 17" models.

nope, the 7300 is meant as a replacement for the 6200. it has the same number of pixel pipeline and vertex shaders, even the same 64-bit memory bus. its just a newer core and is clocked faster

The 6600 Go is a decent GPU - it offers excellent compatability with games due to its support of Direct X 9.0c. It should take you into the Vista era quite easily (or at least at first) :)

yeah. the 6600 will get the job done. that and the x700 are the best way to get a decent gpu and not have a 50 lbs notebook to lug around. the 6200 wont get it done, for most people, and the 7300 will still be an underdog against the 6600 and x700

The 6200 isn't too bad - it's still supported for the AEROglass eye-candy in Vista. True, it isn't very powerful, but it'll get the job done and can play most all games available on the market today.

It should be similar to that of the ATI X200M GPU. I would suspect it would play the games you mentioned at low/med. settings depending upon how much RAM the notebook has.

so just to confirm, the 6600 go will still be better than the 7300 go? how about compared to x1400?
