hi...ive been in search for a laptop for college(engineering) and basically ill be doin everything with it, like graphic arts, web design, music downloading/editing/mixing, alot of browsing and some games... and im planning on staying with it for like 4 years or more haa...so i need something thatll work for me in those future years...anyways i was looking at hp then got interested on Asus but i think im finally going with a Toshiba cause hp is not convincing me with the hardware theyre offering and toshiba can provide what i need for a fair price i guess...and since i live in Puerto Rico i want a brand that has a close costumer service or technical center so that i dont have to get messed up with shipments regarding warranties and whatever...so i was looking at some models im lookin for a 15.4" screen but i only found like a 14" model with ati graphics and the highest memory was 128mb :(...is there any upcoming or recent models comin with better graphic cards like maybe an ATI x1600 or somethin? if not im open for suggestions..its just that i kinda prefer ATI over Nvidia...but as i said im open for suggestions or comments ;) thanks

The only notebook that has an ATI X1600 is the Australlian version of the Tecra A7. You could get an equally powerful Tecra A7 (US Model - Note: The Nvidia Quadro Card will perform much better than an ATI X1600 at engineering apps. like Maya) with the Nvidia Quadro NVS 300M, but you said you weren't a Nvidia person so...

The only notebook that's made by Toshiba that has a recent dedicated ATI GPU is the Satellite M100, which has an optional X1400.

The Nvidia Quadro series is geared specifically for business/engineering apps. whereas the X1600 is not.
