I am seriously considering a qosmio x505-q880 in a couple of weeks. I was wondering if anyone would care to discuss their dealings with toshibadirect.com. Did you have any problems or was it a smooth process? I am very excited about getting a new laptop and I am a bit anxious. I want it to arrive ASAP, without a headache. Let me know of your experience.

I ordered my Satellite last Thursday and got it today. No issues they send me the tracking # in a day and shipped UPS with free shopping...
EDIT: that is free shipping... -

What is the price you are getting it for? There is probably a better deal on Newegg.

I ordered a customized p-series through Toshiba Direct and summarized my experience here.

I wouldnt hesitate too much in ordering from them again, but it wasnt a perfect experience. Their credit card verification process to avoid fraud has delayed orders for a lot folks. Its hard to argue against avoiding fraud, but several people noted this in a survey I found.

Watch your order early on to see that things get off to a good start and you should be okay. Stay on top of them if things look questionable. Remember that if its a custom order, it takes some time and your expectations should be what they note for the build and ship time. I had my system in the US within about 48 hours from when it shipped from Shanghai China.
My custom p-series came with a fingerprint reader, which I read somewhere is typically only available on machines in Europe (Im in the US). I use it all the time, but I could live without it.
Toshibadirect.com, any problems?
